Center for Judaism and Sustainability

Since 1983, the Alliance for Sustainability has been working to create a healthy future for the Earth and all of its inhabitants.

With our new home in the Hillel Center at the University of Minnesota, we are expanding our efforts regarding Judaism, the environment and sustainability. Our hope is to create a center that will address the needs of Jews of all ages in helping to create a sustainable future.

Please join us as a volunteer, intern, Board member or participant and let us know if you'd like to participate in any of the following programs:

  • Helping to prepare a newsletter
  • Assisting with our one-of-a-kind Sustainability Resource Center
  • Helping to develop our web site
  • Being an intern or volunteer

The Center will have a Resource Center with relevant documents, web site, new publications, educational events, travel tours to Israel, and other resources for students, faculty and the public. This Center could be an important tool for reaching the Jewish community and offer exciting opportunities for deepening Jewish knowledge.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! You can send them to us at iasa@mtn.org.

Here are some links to get you started in learning more about how Judaism and Earth stewardship are connected.

Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture?
Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet?
Is it not enough for you to drink clear water?
Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?

-- Ezekiel 34:18
